A memory carried forward.
Echoes of Andalusia explores cultural memory, coexistence, migration and artistic identity through original composition, maqam-based improvisation and Mediterranean rhythmic architecture.

Canadian–Moroccan oudist · composer · cultural bridge
A singular musical language shaped by Al-Andalus, Arabic maqam, Mediterranean memory and the freedom of contemporary improvisation.
“Music carries memory.
Improvisation opens the horizon.”
Mel M’Rabet is a Canadian–Moroccan oudist, composer, producer and ethnomusicologist whose international career spans more than three decades. His work brings the musical legacies of Al-Andalus, the Arab world and the Mediterranean into living dialogue with jazz, contemporary composition and global improvisation.
Rooted in scholarship yet unmistakably of the present, his artistry moves from the intimacy of solo oud to cinematic composition and richly textured ensemble performance.
